About the ride…

Yes, you read that right, it will take me about 2 weeks to complete this. Why? My spinal cord injury produces a fair amount of muscle fatigue that limits me to about 2-3 hours of riding a day. Plus if it is really hot this drains my energy much faster.  Plans are to ride about 30 miles each day, with rest days every 3 days or so.  Some days may be more, some days may be less.  With so much still changing and my inability to regulate my body temperature, the timing of this ride is dependant on the weather.  Not too hot and not too cold, but just right.  Hence the late September/early October ride dates.  Hopefully the temp will be between 70-75 degrees, making this a nice fall ride to end the season. The ride will be adjusted if the weather isn't cooperating.

I have a route in mind and am working on getting it put onto a digital map for all to see.

Details:
  • Starting September 26th
  • Riding to start around 10:00am (tentative)
  • About 30 miles a day (hopefully more as the body adapts more and more to riding)
  • Sag/safety vehicle

  • For those that want to join me for a portion of the ride, please contact me at jay@jaylapointe.com

More details to be released, so check back often!!
